At the Cross: What the Cross Means!

Intro: Yesterday I went to my friends Good Friday service. Apart of his sermon the pastor talked about the cross and and what it symbolizes. I'm so excited to share it with you! Lets begin!

What does the cross symbolizes vertically ?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.   John 3:16

. Jesus Christ sacrificed himself so me and you could be free! The cross vertically symbolizes a bridge and pathway. Jesus Christ made a way for us to connect to the Father. No longer will we "perish but have everlasting life". I just want to take a moment and say that if you have not accepted Jesus as your personal Savior. I would for you to do that right now. Just say these words in your prayer. Lord please forgive me for my sins that I have done. I believe that your Son Jesus Christ was beaten, died on the cross, and on the third day rose again. Lastly, Lord I accept you into my heart and life. I commit myself to follow you. In Jesus name. Amen.

What does the cross symbolize horizontally?

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners
                   Isaiah 61:1

Since the Lord died on the cross. He broke our chains. He mended our broken hearts, and we can live in freedom and with Christ we can fix our relationships.  The cross horizontally symbolizes the breaking of the chains between sin and us and the mending of our relationship with others. With Christ we can do anything!
Here is amazing song I love listening to called At the Cross by Chris Tomlin. It has been stuck in my head but it just reminds me what the cross symbolizes and how thankful I am for our Lord and his Son Jesus Christ. Have a blessed rest of your weekend. If you have any prayer request don't be shy to ask! Also have a  Happy Easter.

Weekly Devotion: Part 1 Who Am I? Knowing Who you are in Christ

Many times we ask ourselves the question Who am I? Especially when difficult decisions arise and hard times come up. This question actually arose today when one of my friends said that I am I never stressed. I know right. She said I am never stressed. I can say the opposite but, then I had analyzed what she she said. My answer back was that I was peaceful because I knew that Lord already has a plan and I know who I am in Christ.
"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do"
                                             Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
I studied this verse and my eyes really drew to the words "God's handiwork". It is amazing to say that I am God's workmanship. It says it right here in the text who we are as Christians.  Not only that, it also states why, or what is our purpose. It says that we are "created in Christ Jesus to do good works". I feel the Lord intentionally said "good works". Last but not least the Lord said that he had already "prepared in advance for us to do" what we should be doing. This verse is so powerful because it says who we are, what we are suppose to be doing, and that it was purposely planned for us to do this. A great question to ask yourself today is are YOU living out YOUR worth as God's handiwork? Have a blessed week!

Weekly Devotional: Suffering Produces Perseverance

Happy Monday Everyone! Must Read Devotional!
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope".  Romans 5:2-4
Smile and glorify the Lord our God because suffering produces perservence. Throughout this week when your experiancing many things going wrong, just know that in the end their is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Lord I pray that people know to glorify your name during suffering and also know the battle is already won by YOU Lord. Lord, I thank you for this day and I love you! In Jesus Name, Amen.

Persistence Devotional

Bible Story: The Parable of the Persistent Widow
"Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He " said: " In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people though. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea,'Grant me justice against my adversary.' For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't actually come and attack me!!"". And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice and quicklly."
Little Back Story: During this time Jesus was telling his disciples a "parable". The definition of parable is story that conveys a meaning
The power of God is so impeccable. Jesus told this story to his disciples to show the power of persist praying. Sometimes it gets a little tough to keep going and to pray consistently. These verses encourages us to keep on praying. Sometimes its so hard to pray all the time because life can become really tough and busy. I can testify that I don't
pray all the time but, once I read this it reminded me about the power of God and prayer. Be encouraged to KEEP on going and PRAY.
